Terms of Use

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Eren Kaspar, the independent developer in Türkiye who runs the Animei Discord bot and bot.animei.me (“we”). They apply when you add the bot to a server or use it. How we handle personal data is in the Privacy Policy.

2. The service

The bot offers features for Discord servers, such as new episode alerts, paths and ranks earned through activity, and anime profile cards. We may add, change or remove features, and we can't promise it will always be available, on time or free of errors. An alert can arrive late or not at all. The basic features are free. If we ever charge for an extra, it will be clear before anyone pays, and these terms will say so.

3. Who can use it

You must be allowed to use Discord under its terms, and be at least 13. You must also follow Discord's terms, which keep applying to everything here.

4. Server admins

If you add the bot to a server or manage it there, you:

• confirm you are allowed to do so in that server;
• decide which features run, and tell your members about anything your server's rules should cover;
• answer for what you enter or upload, including names of paths and ranks, descriptions and template files, and for having the right to use them;
• check what you link. A role linked to a rank is given and taken away by XP, and it can open channels. The bot refuses roles with moderator or admin permissions, but it can't see what your channels allow;
• check a template file you got from someone else in its preview before installing it.

5. Template files

A file you download is yours to use. If you share one, you are the one sharing it: we don't host, list or review files, and we aren't responsible for what others put in theirs. Names from a series or brand can belong to someone else.

6. Rules

Don't use the bot to:

• break the law, Discord's rules or anyone else's rights;
• post hateful, harassing, threatening or sexually explicit content, or impersonate others;
• farm XP with automated accounts, or get around its limits;
• overload it, probe it for weaknesses, or send it requests other than through Discord;
• look up people's Discord accounts or Animei profiles without a good reason.

7. If something goes wrong

To report a problem or content, write to hello@animei.me. If a server or account seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, we may make the bot leave that server or stop answering that account, where possible after telling them why. If you think we got it wrong, write to us and we'll look at it again.

8. Other services and content

The bot depends on Discord, and on AniList for anime data, and we aren't responsible for those services or their outages. Animei Bot is not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord, MyAnimeList or AniList. Anime titles and artwork belong to their rights holders and are shown for identification. Rights holders can write to hello@animei.me. Profile cards come from animei.me, which has its own terms.

9. Our rights

The Animei name, logo, design and code belong to us. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, without any obligation to you.

10. No warranty

To the extent the law allows, the bot is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranties about accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose.

11. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data, lost XP or roles, or for losses caused by other services, by how a server is set up, or by the bot being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence (Turkish Code of Obligations art. 115), or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.

12. Ending

You can delete your data from your own /profile at any time, and an admin can remove the bot from a server at any time, which deletes that server's data. We may stop the bot altogether, and will announce it on this site in advance where we reasonably can.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the bot changes. We'll change the date at the top, and announce important changes on this site before they take effect. If you keep using the bot after that, the new terms apply.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Disputes go to the courts and enforcement offices that have jurisdiction under Turkish law; consumers may also use consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts where the law allows. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of its mandatory consumer laws and can bring a claim there. Please write to us first.

15. General

If part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we don't give it up.
